In April 2013, there will be a conference in Oporto (http://problender.pt/en/conf2013/ ) to show the Blender potential in the Portuguese comunity.
For that, I've prepared a simple case where Blender can be used for example to visualize statistical data:
The data can also be shared to be explored in a simple browser:
During holidays, in a cloudy afternoon I decided to introduce my 4 years old daughter in animation. Not to work with Blender since it is a bit complicated for now (let's wait 1 or 2 years...) but with the stop-motion technique, taking several photos to create the illusion of movement.
It was funny to create it, now she knows how some of her favourite tv programs are made and who knows if she will be interested in the area.
The story is nothing special, just a day at the park ("O Parque"), the post-production was made in Blender. Here it goes:
I keep developing the short animation movie I'm planning to make in the next months. The script is finished, the characters concept is under development and I started to make the animatic to set times and to see how much scenery has to be made and how many secondary characters will be included.
So here it is the first shot animatic, which might make sense to you only in a few months.
I used again camera tracking feature of Blender, this time to create a movie to promote my hometown team, Rio Ave, that might soon return to the first division in Futsal.
And here is my Albert, still a work in progress. I'm already satisfied with the general shape, although it might need some optimization of the mesh if I want to rig it later. I'll soon create the textures and probably the fur.
